Goodbye BlackBerry Bold… Hello iPhone 3GS

After one year and a couple months of using the BlackBerry Bold 9000, I got really annoyed with the features and really wanted to go back to the iPhone. Its been a while since I used the iPhone and I was surprised with how things changed since 2008. First, the phone processes so much faster than the first and second generation iPhones. I realized that when I enter or quit an application, the phone flows really smoothly and you don’t get that sudden jam for a split second, which I used to get frequently with the first generation iPhone. Luckily, I don’t have to fight with a trackball that jams anymore and use sand paper to get it out of the jam its in. Plus, I don’t have to worry if people know if I read their messages or not and take it personally. Please, sometimes people are driving or they’re doing something that requires them to concentrate and they just read the BBM messages just in case it was an emergency, but don’t have time to answer. Or in my case, when I’m half asleep and check a message, I honestly forget to message back.

My favorite application so far, which I believe every university should have, is the University of San Diego application. Here are the features of this application:

- Full map of the university

- Directory of all the professors with their emails, phone numbers, office hours and classes they are teaching

- Athletic schedule of all the university sports and games

- Videos that are updated weekly about school events

- School news

- Updated images from school

- A list of all the courses and their capacities, perfect for when you’re crashing classes on the first day

- Library information with all the books and their call codes

- Tram schedule with how many minutes left before they arrive to their stops
