Restaurant Review: Stone Grill

This steak house shines in both taste and service. For those of you who don’t know, Stone Grill is located in Omniya Center (opposite Laila Gallery). Its location is a bit awkward but at the same time it’s a good thing if your trying to avoid large crowds of people.

If you haven’t figured it out from the pictures yet, the concept of this restaurant basically makes you the chief in charge of grilling your meat on the provided stone. The stones are preheated and come packing 400° C of heat ready to sizzle your choice of meat, so watch those fingers.

The staff is wonderful and very attentive to customer needs, refreshing stones or rushing to help with coats. They give you their all, which is not common in many restaurants.

I highly recommend the fillet mignon, I would also ask them to slice it so it can be easier to grill. One thing I like is that there is no oil added, the meat is grilled using its own natural juices. Another important thing that stands out is taste, you can taste the quality in the meat itself. It’s so good that for most of the meal I didn’t dip into their many exotic sauces. The food is simply amazing and I highly recommend a visit. I hope they remain constant with their quality of food and service.

Porsche Panamera Commercial

Even though this commercial has been out for a couple of months now, I have to say that it’s one of my favorite Porsche commercial.

Unfortunately, this footage reminds me of a 8 p.m drive down the 2nd Ring Road. 50 Porsches, Just so many of them that a Porsche all of a sudden looks pretty dull and loses its overall radiancy and beauty. Watch everybody get this car. Its definitely going to be the next Cayenne, if not more!

My Simple BBQ Hamburger Recipe

What you’ll need:

1/4 pound burgers of your choice (I personally go with Kobe Burgers)

White bread buns

Onions

Thousand Islands Sauce, BBQ Sauce, Worcestershire Sauce

Crushed black pepper

Sharp cheddar cheese

Steps:

1 ) Mix a bowl of 3/4 BBQ sauce and 1/4 Worcestershire Sauce.

2 ) Defrost the burgers and dip them in the mixed sauce. Preferably keep the burgers dipped in the sauce and refrigerate them for a couple of hours.

3 )  After dipping the sauce, don’t throw the sauce away, you will need it for later.

4 ) Cut the onions. Set a plate on the side and prepare the onions, thousand islands sauce, white bread, crushed peppers and sharp cheddar cheese.

5 ) Throw the burgers on the grill. Try to keep burger flipping to the minimal. Do the same with the buns and onions, but watch out since they burn fast.

6 ) On the last flip, dip the cheese slices in the sauce and put them on top of the burgers. Do the same with the onions, then spread a bit of crushed  black pepper. Wait until the cheese melts.

7 ) Put the thousand islands sauce on top, while the burger is on the grill. Wait for 10-20 seconds.

8 ) Take one of the buns and place the burger with the cheese and onions over it. Place the second bun on top.

9 ) Enjoy :D

Fixing My MacBook Pro After Dropping It

I’ve only had my MacBook Pro for three months now, and unfortunately, I dropped it. There was no damage to any of the internals of the laptop, but the gap area between the screen and the laptop itself got too close. Every time I would open or close the laptop, the screen part would rub against the rest of the laptop and I would hear an annoying click. First, I thought of how I was going to get ripped off by the Apple Store to get this small problem fixed. Instead, I thought of fixing it at home. To solve the problem, I have to make the gap between the screen and the rest of the laptop wider so it doesn’t rub, keeping in mind that I can’t use any metallic tools which might scratch the laptop or apply too much force on the screen and could break it. My simple solution: A cotton bud! Watch the steps. If you have the same problem, this could be your solution.

As you can see, the gap between the screen and laptop is very tight after I dropped it, and that was the reason it rubs and annoyingly clicks every time I would open or close the laptop

Place a cotton bud in the gap and gently move the screen as if you are going to close the laptop. That should definitely widen the gap again to its original size without scratching or damaging the screen. But be careful! If you over do it, you might break the components that link the screen to the rest of the laptop.

If only we all had an Oscar.

This cat has a supernatural way of foreseeing the future. At the New England nursing home Oscar has predicted the deaths of many. For the past 5 years not only does he give a dying patient his undivided attention by curling up in their beds, but he also has proven some doctors wrong in their predictions. When one of the nurses placed Oscar in a patient who they assumed is close to dying he ran out and went to another patients room, that patient died within two days, proving the nurses prophecy wrong. Oscar spends no time with patients except those who are close to their death.

“In his book, Making rounds with Oscar: the extraordinary gift of an ordinary cat, Dr Dosa offers no solid scientific explanation for Oscar’s behavior. He suggests Oscar is able – like dogs, which can reportedly smell cancer – to detect ketones, the distinctly-odoured biochemicals given off by dying cells.”

“My Documents” Icon Laptop Protective Pouch

After a long search for a laptop pouch, I have finally came to a decision. First I was looking into getting any “Incase” laptop pouch from the Apple Store, but honestly, because I’ve used them for such a long time, I see them being too plain and boring. The “My Document” laptop pouch can be purchased on designboom.com online store for around $30 without shipping depending on the size of the case you choose. They also have a camera pouch that looks like the “My Photos” icon.
