Threadless Tees

My order from Threadless Tees has finally arrived after being held at customs for 10 days, I hope this delay doesn’t happen every time I expect a package to come my way. Anyway, I’m not liking how Kuwaitis has become cliché in what they sport or in general their whole style. There is almost no individualism anymore because everyone wants to wear, buy and do like the other person and whatnot. The result is we end up with a superficial society with a mediocre state of mind, this is as far as I’ll go into that subject because this post isn’t about that.

What I like about Threadless is that anyone with a decent design can submit their work and maybe get it chosen for printing on tees. I was browsing through their online store a few weeks ago and automatically found myself filling up the shopping cart. I like their approach on consumer-supplier interaction but most importantly they provide a store where you can buy a shirt with a sense of humor and some character.

San Francisco’s People

An interesting take or perspective on a San Francisco night, just goes to show what you can achieve with a Canon 5D Mark II armed with a 1.2 aperture lens.

The Evolution of Coffee: Before and After

Just recently a professor of mine brought to my attention the amazing evolution of coffee. Not the coffee it self but the way it’s served really.

Figure A

Figure A

Back in the pre-Starbucks-ian era when diners served the best brew (of coffee) and little coffee shops were nothing but little. Coffee was served in a mug; a ceramic container with no lid and a little ring on the side for your finger(s) we call a holder. When you start to sip on your coffee not only could you see it but you can also smell the warm aroma of the roasted coffee beans. Back then when you think warm black coffee, you think mug. An example can be seen in Figure A.

Figure B

Today however, in the AS or Anno Starbucks (after Starbucks) era the way coffee is being served has simply evolved into something very different. It seems that people have forgotten all about those wonderful, lidless ceramic mugs with the ring for your fingers on the side. But instead people have stopped using the mug in favor of the “ceramicless” and “ringless” paper cup (with or without the sleeve). Not only that but when you sip on your overpriced black coffee you smell the plastic lid which smells like…plastic; instead of the amazing aroma of the coffee you’re drinking. Basically, if you tell someone to draw a warm cup of coffee, most likely they’ll draw you an ugly ringless paper cup from Starbucks with a lid on it. Figure B is an excellent example of what I’m talking about.

So next time you sip on your Chai Tea (which is basically tea said twice in two different languages) or on your Cafe au Lait which is coffee with milk think about this. Just take a second, stop and just think about how much better the world would be if coffee was still served in a mug.

Dangers of Baggy Pants

“Dear Parents and School Teachers, Baggy pants are dangerous for this reason, this is why they should be banned in schools!”

After all the things he pulled out, I don’t think that pulling a grenade launcher out of his back pocket would be any problem.

YouTube.. From a different view!

Picture 4

Try this:

1. Go to www.youtube.com

2. In the search box, type whatever you want to watch, and after the results come out, click on whatever video you want to watch.

3. While the video is loading, look at the URL box and replace the section that says “watch” with “warp.swf”, press enter and watch what happens.

4. When you go over a bubble in that view, you’ll get the related videos around it. cool isn’t it?

Lexus LFA

The LFA is equipped a V10 engine with capacity of 4.8-liters, that develops 560 hp at 8,700 rpm and 354 lb-ft of torque at 6,800 rpm, with a ASG six-speed transmission. The car reaches 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and the maximum speed is 202 mph. Some sites say it will have a price tag of 175,000-350,000 dollars. That’s just too much for a car like this. Other than that, the car has a flawless design and the sound it makes is just orchestral! The LFA will be released in December 2010.
