SCCA Nationals Solo

The Sports Cars Club of America (SCCA) hosted an event last weekend in San Diego’s Qualcomm Stadium parking lot. Here are a couple of pictures I took. The driver of white M3 got the best time on the track for his class, he handled the car perfectly around the track except for hitting the last cone. Most people that were there are not professionals, just people track driving as a hobby. Events like these should definitely be hosted in Kuwait, they’re short, simple and do not require a lot. They’re also safe because there isn’t anything you could run into if you go off the track.

Here are some incredible slow motion scenes performed by the British show Brainiac. The face slap was hilarious.

The New iPod Shuffle

Apple recently announced their new iPod Shuffle. It’s going to be the smallest 4 GB music player available and the first iPod that talks to you.  According to Mac, this iPod will tell you which song is playing, the name of the artist and the playlist. The battery life is impressive. If each song was 4 minutes long, this iPod can run for 500 songs on a full charge, which is around 2000 minutes. You’ll be able to control the iPod Shuffle through a remote attached to the headphones.  It is currently available at any Apple Store for $79 (US).

Aston Martin One-77

aston-martin-one-77-01-1

This week the stunning Aston Martin One-77 debuted at the Geneva Auto Show pushing a 7.3-liter V12 that delivers no less than 700 horsepower. The hand made coupé will sell for $2.3 million and no more than 77 will be built making it more exclusive and more expensive than Bugatti’s Veyron. Every car will be entirely individual and buyers will be invited to Gaydon where the factory resides, to meet with the designers and engineers to manufacture a One-77 to their exact specifications. Aston Martin has identified 500 or so potential customers worldwide and will bring the One-77 to their homes, a few Kuwaiti buyers have already been contacted so we should expect to spot one or two on the street soon. The Exterior is hand-crafted from aluminum and the chassis will be partly constructed from carbon fiber like the other modern Aston Martins. This will make the One-77 weigh under 1500KG, its also designed to be shorter than the DB9, lower than the Vantage and wider than both.

Atypyk E-Shop

I found this online store that sells creative random stuff that you don’t really need, but would want to have. I’ve been browsing their inventory and I can’t make my mind up with the stuff I want, every page gets more creative and funny. The gallery I posted up includes:

- “all saint” pillow cases, which glows a halo around your head in the dark. I don’t get why you would need one, but it’s funny.

- A clock/piggy bank for your change.

- One dollar bill and the icon symbol note pads.

- Polaroid picture mirror.

- Talk bubble paper clips.

- A carpet that looks like the moon.

Check out their site for more.

360 Photography

Here are some pictures I found online  taken by the UK’s Daily Telegraph.  I first thought that they were using a special fisheye lens, but after reading the article associated with the pictures I found out they were edited on photoshop. Impressive pictures!

Shooting Range

shooting_range_01

Yesterday I was at the shooting range with a friend, we fired a .44 Smith and Wesson Magnum and a 9mm SIG Sauer. Be cautious while firing a magnum, you need to keep a firm steady hand because the recoil can be pretty rough and sends a strong burst of air into you face. Shooting is refreshing and a great stress reliever, I usually come out here once or twice a month. Its fun to come out with a bunch of friends burst a few rounds and compare accuracy.
