Batman Meets Golf

According to This LA Life, this golf car belongs to Christopher Nolan, the director of Batman: The Dark Knight. It would be crazy if the jet engines in the back actually work!

TomeiGT Evo 9

A few days ago, I passed by GarageGT to check out their latest Evo 9 project track car. When I last saw their project car, it was a stock daily driver. But after months of R&D, this is what they added to the car (All parts are Tomei):

  • 2.3L Stroker with complete forged internals
  • Intake system
  • Fuel system upgrade
  • Cams
  • GT30R Turbo kit
  • Complete suspension and brake kit (not sure what the brands of the parts are)
  • Tomei titanium exhaust kit
  • Car has been stripped down to save weight

This car put almost 420 WHP with race fuel on a dynodynamics dyno.

Sailing

With summer school over, I finally had time to start sailing lessons. Every time I get so close to starting, something has to come in the way and I eventually keep sailing on hold. I have previous sailing experience, but I had no idea where to start with the lessons. While looking for schools and programs, I found the American Sailing Association’s (ASA) licensing certifications. These certifications are divided to teach you all aspects of sailing starting from zero to eventually the ability to sail 50 foot sailboats in most weather conditions. To start, there is the Basic Keel Boat 101 license. After passing that exam, the ASA send you a seal which you have to affix into your sailing log book. From that point, you’ll be able to take different certifications and make your way up to difficult courses such as advanced costal navigation. Unfortunately, there are no licensing centers in Kuwait for sailing due to a lack of interest not only in Kuwait, but the whole region.

What I recommend doing is giving sailing a try with someone who is experienced and can handle a sailboat properly. Learn from that person all the basic maneuvers, then give a try for yourself. If you jump straight into the books, the information won’t make any sense at all. Today, I passed the first and second certifications. I took the pictures in this post throughout the whole lesson yesterday. Luckily, my instructor has his own sailing team and I got to join him in the San Diego Cortez Sailing Competition today. We got second place with a 6 man crew! All the other teams had about 9-12 people on board giving them a greater advantage over us since they had more people handling the running rigging.

2011 Audi RS5

Audi dealerships have finally started to take people on the waiting list for the new RS5. This 450 horsepower all-wheel drive car will be powered by a 4.2L twin turbo V8 engine. BMW’s M3 and Mercedes-Benz’s C63 have to watch out for their new competitor. As far as drivetrain, the RS5 is the only car amongst its competitors that has all-wheel drive system. Also, it is the only one that is turbo charged. Personally, I prefer stock turbo cars since minor modifications make a big difference. With a naturally aspirated car, there is not much you can do to get exponential gains. But with a turbo charged car, just raising the boost can promise up to +40 horsepower gains on most cars. There is no price for this car at the moment, but it will be between the $70,000 to $85,000 according to many websites following the release of this car.

The Oreo Monster Cookie Stack

What you see in front of you are two innocent Oreo cookies stuffed with 36 stacks of Oreo fillings. I would never try this, but it would be interesting to see someone attempting to eat the whole thing. I love Oreo cookies, but not to the extend where I would stack them up!

Here are some nutritional facts for you:

Each Oreo filling has 20 calories, so 20 x 36 = 720 calories

Each Oreo cookie has 15 calories, so 15 x 2 = 30

Total: 750 calories
