Today I attended Khaleejesque’s official magazine launch in 360 mall, they’ll also be available tomorrow (6th Feb), so pick the free first issue, grab a goodies bag, take some funny photos at BonkerBox, and meet the editorial team.
@puddleofred: Since co-founding Khaleejesque what was your biggest challenge in the sense of expanding from an online magazine to an actual print issue?
@fouzalsabah: Looking back at it now, managing an online magazine is fairly easy compared to creating a printed publication. We wanted the print magazine to be a collectible with high quality content, visuals, layout and essentially contains the collective efforts of the talented writers, editors, photographers, and graphic designers who contributed to the magazine. It’s a multi-faceted project that took a lot of long hours, enormous energy, and extremely high attention to detail. We really wanted to present the contemporary Khaleeji culture in the most creative, and authentic, way possible and hopefully we’ve succeeded in doing that.
@puddleofred: How do you think your magazine will shape the Middle-East as a unified culture?
@fouzalsabah: There is a huge wealth of human creativity in the region that is just waiting to be revealed. Working in the magazine has actually introduced us to an unbelievable number of talented people all around the region and beyond. It’s exciting to uncover inspiring people, ambitious projects, and valuable information on a daily basis. This gives us a chance to introduce the contemporary culture and lifestyle of the Middle East to the people who’re living there and, even more importantly, to international readers who are curious about region.
